Hi everybody! I am Nina, the new Chair of the Amnesty International Studentgroup Amsterdam, a perpetually tired student in love with travelling, drinking tea, and cinema. Studying Philosophy, Politics, and Economics in my second year at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, I am passionate about human rights and global social justice. With a strong interest in politics and a thirst for knowledge installed in me from a young age, I have been engaged with the fields of international human rights for quite some time, volunteering for Amnesty International since my teenage years. But I want to do more than that, which is why I now am incredibly excited to take on more responsibility as chair: I want to help people through human rights education, advocacy work, and providing a platform for voices who are too often silenced. Connecting young people willing to learn, educate, and enact change generates powerful movements. If you have an idea for AISA to get involved in or you want to engage in human rights activism yourself, feel free to contact us!
Hey everyone! I'm Miloš and I'm a third year student at Amsterdam University College focusing my studies in international relations, specifically international security and human rights. While I only recently became a member of Amnesty International, I have always tried to be active when it comes to defending people's rights, from signing petitions to participating in protests, to recently volunteering in a refugee camp. I am fortunate enough to be fulfilling the position of secretary of AISA this year. This means I'll be the first to read your emails if you want to contact us, and will do my best to help ensure that our events, such as our writing nights, take place in a smooth, effective, and enjoyable manner. I look forward to meeting you, and to working with everyone interested in helping make the world a better place.
Hi! My name is Tamara Kristensen and I will be the treasurer of AISA for the upcoming year. I am a second-year PPLE student at UvA. I am very excited to have the opportunity of being a board member of AISA and hope to be able to contribute to making this year an exciting and educational year for AISA. Throughout the upcoming year, I hope to continue the amazing work of our previous board members, as well as host more interesting themed events revolving around both local and international human rights issues.
Roni Zahavi Brunner
General Board Member
Hello! I am Roni and I am the new general board member, together with Chiara. I am originally from Israel and currently I am a second year Political Science student at the UvA. You can usually find me in one of Amsterdam's cafes, and I am very passionate about queer art, traveling and Italian food (and, of course, human rights!). I am so excited about the upcoming year with Amnesty International and I cannot wait to meet and work with all of you! As the general board member, I am going to use education as a tool to promote activism and awareness about human rights. I believe that we have the duty to use all the tools and privileges we have in order to fight for change.
